Father Michael Reardon was born in Co. Limerick, Ireland. He attended Mount Mellerary Secondary School and St. John’s College & Seminary in Co. Waterford, Ireland. In 1974, Father Michael was ordained for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, and his first assignment was at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Santa Barbara. He served at six parishes as Associate Pastor from 1974 to 1995. He was named Administrator for St. Cornelius in Long Beach in 1995, and was its Pastor from 1996 to 2005. Fr. Michael was Pastor at St. Bruno in Whittier from 2005 to 2014, and has been the Pastor at St. Bartholomew since 2014.
Father is an enthusiastic traveler, who has led his parishioners on several pilgrimages to the great shrines, cathedrals, and World Heritage Sites of his native Ireland, Scotland, Italy, and Turkey. He enjoys travel by train and has journeyed throughout the west, southwest, and east to visit more than half of our 50 states.
